Scroll through our three slides below to find out more about holding your child's baptsim (Christening) at St Mary's
We are hoping to once again be able to hold baptisms (also known as Christenings) in our church this summer. Please contact us if you would like to discuss this possibility.
You can be baptised at any age, whether you are a baby, a child or teenager or an adult. Children will normally require godparents or sponsors; for adults, however, this is not necessary.
We are really pleased when parents approach us about baptism (also known as christening) for their child. We are very willing to visit you to explore any questions you may have and explain what Christian Baptism means for you and your child.
We look forward to welcoming families to church for baptism. It’s always a time of joyful celebration when we want to thank God for our children. The service is friendly and informal and marks the beginning of a journey of faith, becoming a member of the local and worldwide family of the Church.
Baptisms at St Mary’s can either take place in our All Age Service at 10.00am on the fourth Sunday of the month, or in a private ceremony at 12.00noon on any Sunday (providing the church is available).
There is no charge for a Baptism service.
